Vacations
Tahiti is a French influenced
country so the natives speak Tahitian and French.
The prices are inflated.
Meals and beverages are
usually not included in Tahiti resorts' nightly rates.
Most of the upscale Tahiti
resorts are over-water bungalows which lack in privacy. Rather you’re
on display out in the ocean with no foliage surrounding the Tahitian
accommodations. Sound carries over water so every noise is
magnified. If someone
is walking down the plank or boardwalk, you can hear them loud and
clear.
vs
Fiji Vacations
Fiji is an independent
country. Everyone speaks English.
The US dollar is strong.
Shopping prices are very comparable to the rates in the US.
You can find some good bargains.
Meals are usually
included in the nightly rate.
Five-star resorts include
soft drinks and most include alcohol.
Fiji does not allow over-water
bungalows. Fiji is the soft coral capital of the world and is very
protective of their reefs. Building over reefs is damaging to the
coral that has taken hundreds of years to develop. Also Fiji does
not encourage fish feeding.
On a Tahiti vacation
you will not have the beautiful coral reefs which are excellent
for snorkeling. Therefore, they do build out in the water. Tahiti
vacations also do not have the tide change that Fiji has. Fiji’s
tidal changes are quite drastic.
Fijian people are the
friendliest people. They are curious about you and try to get to
know you better. They want to share their culture with you.
